It was the first party and there are exactly four pictures of the event. Well, five if you count a bad picture taken underwater of some porn star sucking off another one (the house we were at had a pool and a little room where you could go and see underwater.. it sounds like it would be a sexy pic but it just kinda looks stupid).

Anyway, in later parties, I would have hundreds of pictures.. I won't be posting all of those up on this blog but it's kind of funny that the first one generated so few images.

This last image was taken towards the end of the party. I had booked nearly a dozen stars but only a few showed up. Later I would learn to book more than I needed since I figured some would flake (and they would, coming up with the most OUTLANDISH excuses. For the record "I've decided I'm just not into it after all, many many apologies" is much better than some of the incredible tall tales I heard over the years. At least have some respect for yourself to be honest - at least I can respect you for getting all the publicity but then not following through).

Anyway, if I do say so myself, I look pretty ripped in this pic.. I think it was the angle because I'm not sure I really have ever had a six pack. <blush> In any event, that's Mickey Skee laying on the ground for some reason and from left to right: Peter Dixon, Dino Phillips, me, Eduardo, James (still don't know his name) Eric Evans and Marc Hamilton (swoon, he was so sexy in person and I have him to thank for getting me hard during a naked bartender party .. yum).

BAD BOYS POOL PARTY 1998: COCKTAILS WITH THE STARS AND A DIFFERENT LIGHT

Because I'm never content just to do an event, there has to be all sorts of tie-ins and hoopla (oh later on there would be hoopla.. ugh! LOL) I was asked to guest host Micky's Cocktails with the Stars as a sort of promotional event for the first LA Bad Boys Pool Party. I'm pretty sure that this is what eventually led to me getting hired to do the event full time a year later. Anyway, it was a pretty amazing night. Up until then I'd see everyone at everyone else's parties and it was a thrill for a lot of the people that I knew in the industry to come out for mine.

Let's see, can I name everyone? Along the back, left to right, Thomas Lloyd, editor of Unzipped at the time Jon Erich and my friend (and co-star in one of two movies that Chi Chi actually writes in her book, Making it Big, were her worst video experiences .. yikes.. not Peter or I but lots of other snafus were happening) Peter Dixon. Second row from back, the late Jamoo, Jack Simmons, director Kevin Clarke, Seth..?, Eric Evans, the then editor of a Skinflicks (oh no, a brain fart, can't remember his name .. and I worked for him as a columnist!), and actor/director Giorgio Falconi. Along the front from left.. me (they say black is very slimming), one of my favorite people in the entire industry Lex Kyler (he was so much fun and that we met one day when he was walking out of a hotel in San Francisco was pretty awesome.. and that he later appeared as "baby New Year" at a party my then boyfriend and I threw.. well, he got my vote as 'most fabulous') and finally James.. was that his real name or his porn name? Oh God, I don't remember.. but he was an ex Marine and super hot and very sweet and came to my events all the time..... and then, like many other guys in the industry, simply vanished one day never to be heard from again.

After the Micky's thing, columnist Mickey Skee held a book reading of his book "Bad Boys of Porn" (Companion Press) at A Different Light (may it rest in peace). Along for the ride, Catalina exclusive Steve Rambo. Steve was supposed to be a part of the first Bad Boys party but never made it due to work, or got lost or something happened. We kept trying. I think I kept advertising him but I don't think Steve ever actually made a Bad Boys appearance, something that always made me sad. I thought he was just this sexy, masculine, real guy in a world of plastic and so I really dug him quite a bit.

I wonder if even long time porn fans could identify all the stars and porn personalities in this picture... not even sure that I can anymore.... this was taken at the end of the very first Bad Boys party. It was a small party with just seven stars scheduled.. but all of these amazing guys showed up. It was really an amazing afternoon, one I'll never forget (and when I'm feeling down, this is one of those pics that just restore make my day). Many of them were my friends, two of them have long since passed away, one is one of my best friends, one went crazy...  and I miss most of them; and I definitely miss that time in my life. Isn't that always the case?
