I AIN'T FRAID OF NO GHOST

Hey all, feeling MUCH better today.. for the first time all week I actually left my apartment for more than a juice run at the grocery store .. back home and waiting for kids to come for tricks n treating. I'm thinking I shouldn't push it by going out tonight but man, I wish I could because these two parties sound like a lot of fun.. right?

First, tonight starting at 9pm at the Center on W. 13th Street Joe Fiore throws his annual monster bash featuring creepy costumes, crazy couture and music that will wake the dead! There's a contest and DJs Gustavo and Rich King from the Friday Snaxx party at the Westside Tavern. Celebrity judges as usual and more tricks and treats than ever before!

Then, you can go right from the Center uptown to Purgatorio at 268 W. 47th for the biggest party of the season thrown by the Saint at Large folks featuring 50 live acts and four big DJs including the always fun Randy Bettis who'll be spinning in the special Paradise lounge.

Originally the party was supposed to begin at 4am but due to demand, it's been moved up four whole hours with a start time of 1am. Four? Well, because due to the time change, there's an extra hour of ghoulish delight in the wee hours of the morning...!

If you haven't gotten your tickets by now, it's too late to pick them up for the pre event price, but hey, it's a mere $60 for some seriously major dance party action!!

18 DAYS TIL THE BITCH IS BACK

I'm still a little under the weather but should be back to blogging full time by Sunday or Monday at the latest.. thanks again everyone for the nice emails and get well wishes!

Anyway, today, we're only 18 days til Amanda returns to Melrose Place. This show rocks every week and even holds up to repeat viewings (which I did this past Tuesday when I had exhausted everything on my DVR and had to watch stuff.. gasp.. live!).

THURSGAY BRIGHT AND SHINY

Well, after a few bedridden days  I am back on my feet. Not at 100% yet but almost there. Thanks to all of you who sent nice emails wishing me well.

What did I do while incapacitated? Watched a LOT of tv. From the super horny night on BROTHERS AND SISTERS to past episodes of GLEE on my boyfriend’s DVR (wow that guy with the Mohawk is fucking smokin’ hot). I cannot believe that Mika threw away the contest on The Amazing Race, I can’t believe that MODERN FAMILY is getting critical raves (what an awful show) and I cannot believe that the Hallmark channel is a premium level station on Time Warner. Not that I really have a yen to watch anything on the Hallmark channel but I was shocked when I clicked on it and discovered that I had to upgrade to see it. For the Hallmark channel? For real?

Thankfully ONE LIFE TO LIVE has been must see TV especially for it’s gay content – this is a show that shows it’s humor and shows it’s star-crossed romance, rather than bangs you over the head with music cues telling you how you’re supposed to react and feel (I’m looking at you DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.. what a terrible show it’s become!). Tomorrow, Friday October 30th, ONE LIFE TO LIVE features the Big Gay Mass Wedding and you cannot miss this one as it promises to be sorta kinda the culmination of the “Kish” storyline as well as a huge step for daytime.. or is that gaytime television? That’s at 2pm EST!

DELIRIOUS AND SCARY, TONIGHT AT PORRRRNO BINGO

It's Wednesday, it's cold and rainy here in New York and yes, if you've been reading my blog the past couple days, I'm still sick. Ugh. So it's unlikely that I'll be coming to the show tonight unless I throw on a hospital mask and a pig snout. Ok it's not swine flu (I'm always a little piggy though) but it still sucks as hard.

Fortunately my pals Amanda Takehometomother and photographer AB will amuse you throughout the night as we raise funds for scholarships to the Gay Games! Amanda's coming in some Hairspary inspired outfit which oughta be great! She'll take over for me throughout the night and host our annual costume contest for which the prize is $100. The only rules are: they must be actual costumes (ie my pig snout and mask wouldn't cut it unless I was also wearing a surgeon's lab coat smeared with flem and stuff or something) AND there must be three contestants. As always it's all about the audience's applause that gets the winner the cash.

We also have singer Dan Crowley who'll be joining us and doing a couple numbers. Dan is really great and I'm sorry that i'm going to miss him!

Unfortunately we won't be seeing Conner Habib.. I can't say I still understand the whys but he's here on the east coast visiting from San Francisco but not planning on being in NYC til later in the week (why then did he book the night??). Oh well, we do have videos that he's in from Raging Stallion so it'll be sorta kinda like he's here with us. (or rather there, with you)

Anyway, we have Halloween night tickets to Dance 208 where they too also do an annual costume contest (some of the most inventive I've ever seen) as well as two tickets to give away (one way or another) for the Saint at Large's Halloween bonanza which will start at 4am on November 1st - long after the amateur partyers have passed out in overpriced taxis ferrying them around the city without the meter on.

As always Bingo is at Pieces tonight from 8 to 10 .. cheap drinks and even cheaper men!

AFTER Bingo, Mike Dreyden and Max Sinclair are throwing a sex party at Paddles... it opens at 8 but the show with the guys doesn't start til 11....!

Then on Halloween night itself, join promoter Joe Fiore for his annual costume contest and Halloween extravaganza featuring the Imperial Court and the Metrobears. DJ Rich King from Snaxx spins! 9pm til 1am

Finally, it's the Saint at Large Halloween extravaganza featuring DJs Hector Fonceca, Junior, Randy Bettis and Michael Magnan spinning from 4am to  (yikes!) 4:30 pm at Pugatorio at 268 W. 47th Street .. find out where to get tickets and more details at the Saint site

As for me, I'm heading back to bed for the rest of the week but will try to do updates to the blog as often as is realistically possible... coming on November 4th to Bingo: Trai la Trash and on November 11th: Matthew Rush who will also perform at Splash that Friday the 13th! Cool stuff coming up in November.. it's sweeps!

Those fabulously human like Fleshjacks are back with a new 'flavor' and just in time for Halloween but probably more than likely to capitalize on the current wave of vampire-mania that's seized our pop culture - yes, it's the Count Cockula 'fangs' edition of the Fleshjack! Gee, not many guys like it when I use a little teeth when sucking their cock but maybe it's a fetish that's expanded since I was out in the field having sex with random people. HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR EFFEMINATE BOYS

As you may remember from the other night, I came home from my DC/Woodstock trip completely wiped out but who knew that it wasn't merely exhaustion, but that I was coming down with the flu? I spent all late Sunday night and all day Monday pretty miserable (thanks to my bf for bringing me soup and soda!) and at last this morning the fever broke and I feel at least somewhat human again. Still a little achy and have developed a little cough but certainly better than I was 24 hours ago! Anyway, my friend Stephen forwarded this off to me and I thought you'd enjoy it ... it's really incredible to me that the Onion had kind of lost it's relevance only two/three years ago and was a crappy free paper that hardly garnered one or two laughs to this supremely funny website filled with amazingly funny and topical videos. TOO BEAT TO BEAT IT

I love MCing events. A lot. But doing the Mr/Ms NJ Leather contest last Saturday in Assbury, Bingo in NYC on Wednesday and the Mighty Men event at Secrets (thanks to Alex for sending me the picture on the left) on Friday in Washington DC and THEN heading up north to Woodstock NY for a reading of a new show last night and back to NYC today (filled after a delicious burrito brunch..mm!) anyway, I'm fucking beat. 3 events, four cities, smelly laundry and a banana I've been carrying around in my coat for five days. UGH (I should also mention here that while I had excellent accommodations all the way around, I always have trouble sleeping in strange beds whether it be at hotels or friends' houses...although you'd think that by now I'd be used to it.. because I've been MCing for so long!.... uh sure <G>)

For the moment anyway, I'm too tired to kvetch that once again the aforementioned Facebook has made even more useless changes (although click here to find out how to revert back to the 'old way') and I'm definitely too tired to get upset that once again Obama has apparently again defended DADT (thanks to Micheangelo Signorile for posting it on his Facebook feed). You know I'm exhausted if I can't work up righteous anger. But oh did you see the picture of Obama in today's New York Times? A fine looking butt (and I'm not an ass man). What do you say, is he a boxers or briefs guy? (I know, it's a shallow thing to even mention after the DADT thing but hey, do you really come here for in depth political coverage?)

I'm unpacking, I'm mixing a drink, I'm turning on my DVR and watching Thursday and Friday's One Life to Live and then maybe rockin my bad self out with my elbow grease, if I even have the energy to unzip my pants. I might need some help. Just sayin.
