I'm barely awake after last night's extravaganza but before I go out for a little walk (and maybe a bike ride) into another gorgeous day, I just wanted to dash a quick note to say THANK YOU to everyone who made last night's supremely successful P*rno Bingo happen! My guests C1R exclusive Johnny Hazzard along with the always fabulous (and award winning) Peppermint who did a number and then helped out raising the bar for our last couple auctions and finally of course my old friend DJ Randy Bettis. :) Thanks too to my Bingo staff, AB who takes our photos and DJ Baker for spinning some music and showing us some fun video. Seen too: Spike, Tre, Mark, Evan, Tony, Muffin, and...well I could go on because the place was PACKED.. was it because of St. Pats or because of the lineup or maybe because it was the first really sensational day of spring weather? Who can say and who cares? I'm just happy that everyone came out and had such an amazing time with
us! Plus on top of all the Bingo stuff, our friends over at Project Achieve donated a dozen pizzas for the crowd at the start of the event! Bar staff Danny, Chris, Josh, Eric and Kevin kept everyone moving and drinking and the Sylvia Rivera volunteers, Emily and Kips (plus two scantily clad lovely ladies whom I didn't get introduced to) managed to get around the crowd to get those Bingo cards out!
Last night couldn't have been possible without our amazing sponsors - Channel 1 Releasing for sending some copies of GRID IRON GANG BANG and PLAYING WITH FIRE FOUR ALARM, the James Corbett Salon who donated a fantastic gift certificate for services, the Roundabout for two tickets to see THE GLASS MENAGERIE (now playing!), Randy Bettis for scoring two tickets to the new show LOOPED starring Valerie Harper as well as bringing in two complete sets of
Gay Days (at Disney World cds)!, a two week membership to Steel Gym (on W. 23rd between 6th and 7th, they are offering a four day Black Party weekend special btw for a mere $45), two tickets to the new off Broadway show NORMA DOES MEN, the last Black Party ticket in the city (they've been sold out for a few days), and tickets to the March 27th Dance 208 (208 W. 13th Street) and this Friday's pre Black Party event at RockBar (more on this in tomorrow's pre Black Party blog). Whew! Geez, I hope I didn't forget anyone! :) Thanks too to Peppermint who offered up a brunch at Lips as part of the auction package! Wow!!
BTW for those of you who are interested in Johnny's HazMat t shirts, the picture to the right is the one he was mentioning last night during his interview and you can find them at New York's Rainbows and Triangles located at 192 Eighth Ave.
In all we raised $1,250 to help transgendered people afford legal services because after all, the org was founded and is named for Sylvia Rivera who was one of the original Stonewall riot participants.
Pictures later today. Really. :)
