Happy Leap Year! Tonight on The Will Clark Show feat. P*rno Bingo - we're doing our 'whenever we feel it' Jackpot Bingo night - no beneficiaries, no guests, just fun with AB and I calling out four, maybe five,
maybe even six if the spirit moves us, rounds of Bingo - with cash prizes throughout the night! Each round the winner gets half the jackpot and in the final round, the whole enchilada (I mean, just to be clear, we're not actually giving away an enchilada.. but mmm enchilada....insert Homer Simpson drool here). As you might know, the last month has been pockmarked with laptop issues galore.
It turned out that the issue was the same from the get-go - a dying video card- but well, sometimes the doctor gets the diagnosis right and sometimes you have to go to three to find out what's really the problem... and it turned out to be the latter, unfortunately.
Although all this would have not been such a long difficult process had a techie at Tekserve not insisted at the outset that the problem was a spill on the keyboard. I knew that wasn't the problem (there's a lot I do while working on the computer but nothing that would cause a.. uhm.. spill of any kind) but somehow the Tekseve guy (and subsequently, a manager) insisted that I just didn't remember said spill. Weird, huh? Usually Tekserve is really great but this time they really messed up. <shrug> Of course after a week of checking out said spill, they announced that it wasn't a spill at all. I know, I was surprised too. LOL So for those of you in New York, buyer beware on your next visit to Tekserve!
At some point I'll have to spring for a new computer as the one I'm writing this blog with is four and a half years old. Hilariously my first computer - a Leading Edge desktop PC that I bought summer 1992 - lasted nearly a decade. Now it's all about planned obsolescence.
I feel like the guy in that sketch on SNL from a couple weeks ago where a middle aged man visits a Verizon store and tries to get a straight answer from the salesperson about what all the various models of phones actually mean (".. does that mean it's faster?") - lately I feel like I'm that sketch ALL THE TIME. Maybe I just need a 20something boyfriend to bridge the gap. :)
On the upside, it made me appreciate just how much time I spend online and how addicted I am to accessing my gmail, blog and Facebook all day long...... I'm thinking that my habits will change a little in the days, weeks and months to come. And that's not so bad a thing a thing to realize - makes one wish there were a few more 'extra' days in the year for additional insights. :)
Anyway, see you all tonight at the Will Clark Show - and prepare to win some big cash prizes! 8pm sharp!
