Good afternoon all!
Just returned from a weekend out on Fire Island where I was helping out with a big gay wedding. You know it's always a challenge to assist managing a wedding for two grooms and 150 guests but throw in a beach and a wind so strong that the chuppah threatened to topple down and mow down suntanning gays all up and down the beach.
It kind of would have been a fun sight to see but if it had hurt anyone, well, there's probably nothing worse than telling St. Peter you were killed by a tumbling runaway chuppa. :) As it was, it took about 8 people to keep it from completely blowing away (although 8 people holding on for dear life to big tube shaped things sorta sounds like a typical Saturday night on Fire Island).
And if you think I'm being a tad disrespectful, well, I kind of lost my reverance after using the community center's men's room and noticing that one of the urinals was bought/named for a friend of mine. It just puts a spin on everything (a good one by the way) LOL I would say 'it took the piss out of me" but I kind of think that's a given considering where I was. :)
Anyway, after managing and/or officiating five weddings in the past 30 days plus battling Hurricane Isaac with two hot gay porn models, I'm a little wiped out. LOL
Time at home means finally fixing a bookshelf that collapsed a few weeks ago. There are books stacked everywhere as well as clothes and luggage strewn about, and random bits of leftovers from various meals in the frig. I'm like one lawn flamingo from being trailer trash.
After I get everything back in place, I've got Bingo Thursday night and then after that, I'll be in Washington DC this weekend with my roommate at a series of Imperial Court events. I haven't been to DC in years - not since I was at Wet managing Matthew Rush's show there two/three years ago. Weddings and Bingo, Drag and Porn. No one can say that my life doesn't have range.
Today I'm posting a video called "Monster Mom", a graduation film by Cristian Guerreschi It's not all porny or anything to do with nightlife, but I love animation and love seeing new works by indie filmmakers, especially those who have a solid narritive sense to their work. Enjoy!
