Good morning peeps!
Well, let's talk about some things.
First off, thank you to all of you who sent birthday wishes (my birthday was March 9th for those of you who didn't know and/or didn't send the requisite check for a hundred million dollars. I will be waiting patiently by my mailbox for your gift, thankyouverymuch). <wink>
I had said over and over again that I wanted to have a super low key birthday - I had a big hullabaloo time on the 12 Caribbean cruise in January and then, more recently I'd gone to see my favorite musical "Carousel", part of Lincoln Center's series presenting "concert" versions of big name shows.
And, as always happens in these situations, the universe heard and acted appropriately. For complicated reasons, the friend that I was supposed to spend the evening with had to cancel through no fault of his own and so I simply spent the evening watching TV. A DJ friend that I share a birthday with wrote me later and said he was embarassed to report that he spent his birthday doing the exact same thing so I didnt feel SO bad. On one hand one could say it was depressing... on the other, I did get what I asked for.
In fact if the point weren't driven home forcefully enough, one of my many channel surfing destinations ended up being a Barbara Walters special where she highlighted the best television shows of all time in various genres. Naturally, there were clips from "American Bandstand" - probably the best "reality" show ever. One clip featured a very young Madonna saying with great joy when Dick Clark asked her, "what do you want from your career?"; she replied "I want to rule the world!!!!" She wasn't shy about asking for what she wanted, and boy, can anyone argue that she, in some very real ways, ruled the world these past 30 years? So my advice to all of you reading this is decide what you want, state it loudly and proudly and then go about your business. If nothing else, it'll get you clear on what you want real fast.
I have lots more to write about but this is already a tad long so I'm going to simply say: TO BE CONTINUED.
