Good afternoon all! My best wishes for a fabulous Thanksgiving and of course my best wishes for continued health throughout this holiday season!
As many of you know, this has been a challenging year for me - particularly with my mom's passing and the family drama that was heaped on top of it.
Thankfully though, my mother's death allowed me to reconnect with all the wonderful things that she was.
I am also grateful for the outpouring of support from various childhood friends. Some I have not talked to in 30 years.
From marrying a dozen couples to helping a friend get on the road to recovery from substance abuse, from meeting new friends to finding family ties in old ones, this year has been, well, a lot of fun despite the painful parts.
No Bingo tonight but we'll be back next week with the annual "Night of a Thousand Santas' event to benefit the Ali Forney Center. Hope you can join me and my guests XXX legend Jake Deckard, drag superstar Witti Repartee, comedian/performance artist Molly "Equality" Dykeman and of course that man who likes you better than if you're naughty than if you're nice, Santa.
Finally, that William Shatner State Farm video has been making the rounds, but I much prefer the remixed version. It sounds a lot like the Julia Child video from a few months ago, but that may be why I like this so much. And like the fake flames on Shatner's arm (above), I hope all of our troubles are mere illusions and can be blown out as easily - well as easily as it was for Spiderman to rim Uncle Sam (causing one friend to title it "Don't Rim on My Parade") :)
Enjoy and have a terrific holiday!
