Good morning peeps! From my vantage point, it's just before Christmas and I am sitting at my desk on the UWS but from your vantage point, I've already been gone from the city for 24 hours and hopefully sitting somewhere sipping a vodka cran or some other kind of adult beverage. Hopefully I'm not sitting paniking because I'm already bored. Yikes. I was on a four day cruise ten years ago and after I did a Cocktails with the Stars show the first night at sea, I was instantly seized by a "what to do?" attack. Pray for me that that doesnt happen on the big sea because I'm there for 12 days.. !!
Meanwhile, back here on land, you can enjoy the sounds of my friend Yolanda's newest CD which got released over the holidays (right now for me, but two weeks ago for you!) As you probably know from past entries, Yo has a semi regular show at the Duplex featuring great Country/Gospel music - and while I know it sounds all Bible-thumpy, she's a drag queen who has become a Reverend at the One Spirit ministry here in New York. You are not walking into "you are damned to hell for being gay" territory here!
The new CD, REV YOLANDA'S COUNTRY GOSPEL KIRTAN combines Country Gospel, Native American and Hindu Kirtain music with New Thought ministry lyrics and, well, of course an occasional House Music beat. :) As you can tell, I'm a fan of the music and the man. :)
Yo's next Duplex gig is just a couple weeks away on Sunday January 20th. Check out Yo's website for more info! See the show that's been nominated "Best Musical Comedy 2012" by Broadway World!
