Good morning peeps!
As you all know, I'm heading out of town on a Caribbean cruise today and will be without my phone for 12 days. I'll also have a limited internet connection so I may not be able to make too many updates along the way. I've pre-loaded a few entries over the next couple weeks, enjoy!
This will be my first real honest to goodness vacation since August 2006 - and I mean a trip where I'm not constantly monitoring email, Facebook, Twitter, this blog, etc. But like any kind of junkie (and yes, an addiction to the internets is a real thing), I'll go through withdrawl. I imagine however that there'll be a lot to keep me busy over the next 12 days.
I've been running on empty for awhile now and so I'm looking to recharge my batteries. You know you need a vacation when you feel the need to tell tourists who stop at the top of the subway stairs to get the hell out of the way. (I call this a person's "movie moment".. i.e. in their head, they are the center of a movie and they've just walked up to street level and the whole world is at their feet. The music in their head swells and their theme song plays and life is like a Disney cartoon - except there are like 5 million people behind them all wanting to get out of the subway. Feeling this way not only makes me - at last- a true New Yorker - but it also makes me a grouch and in heavy need of some down time away from the noise - both aurally and visually)
I ran out of time to process pics of the January 3rd Bingo, but here's some pics of the December 27th show FYI. Now this is a night that should not have happened. Everything was off - we got moved to another room at the Ritz 30 minutes before the show, I forgot my camera at home and my guest Gusty Winds had been feeling ill.
But we filled the upstairs room and Chauncey made the best of it with inadvertantly switching on the fog machine a couple times, I used my iPhone and Gusty called a couple games and did a couple of numbers before heading home early to go back to bed. (And just as an aside here, how awesome of Gusty to come even though she wasn't really feeling up to it... and also I apologize for so few pics and the general not great nature of them.. AB did the best he could with an iPhone but Lord that camera is not designed for club photography! And Gusty, girl, the iPhone did not do you any favors.. you will thank me for not posting them... next time we'll take twice as many! :) ) And of course best of all, we raised a few hundred dollars for our beneficiary, the Ali Forney Center. (And things were back to normal on the Jan 3rd show.. we raised over $800 for Trinity Place.. that's a great way to start the new year off!)
Cockyboys star Antonio Manero was my other guest and it was his pretty and energetic attitude that saved the evening for us all otherwise it would have been too easy for us all to have thrown in the towel! LOL Antonio, by the way, will be in West Hollywood this upcoming week making his "Cocktails with the Stars" debut! (Tell 'em I said hello, Antonio.. .as you all might know, I produced and emceed Cocktails from 1999 - 2002).

Have a great couple of weeks everyone ... Witti Repartee is guest hosting for me at Bingo and deets on January 10th can be found here and deets on January 17th can be found here.
Take care!
