Hope you all have been doing well these past few weeks since I went on vacation! I hear that Witti Repartee did an awesome job and that we raised a lot of funds - $650 for Cycle for the Cause on January 10th and over $800 for Iris House on January 17th. I have been on the go since I got back and haven't even had time to look at the pictures or even really heard stories, so I'm looking forward to hear the tales.
I'll talk more about the cruise in upcoming blog posts.. although I did find it funny that I spent one of the first mornings on the boat going to, what else?, Bingo! I generally don't go to others' bingo nights here in the city because I don't want to subconsciously copy what they're doing .... well, other than when Gusty was doing Bingo over at Posh (she retired from the gig a few weeks ago, damn!) on Monday nights.. but then, no one can really copy what Gusty does, can they? She is definitely in a category all of her own! :)
Anyway, tonight's lineup is stellar - Ron B as Tina Turner, Appolonia Cruz and horror icon Joe Zaso all joining me to raise funds for Harlem Pride! Ron is one of the show's new favorites and Appolonia hasn't been on the show for ages (good to have you back, girl!) and this will be Joe's first appearance at the Ritz incarnation of the show. Join us for great performances and erotic giveaways plus music by DJ Chauncey Dandridge!
And if all of that wasn't enough, we're celebrating the birthday of my right hand man (and Bingo photographer) AB - three years ago we celebrated his 50th... because in the 9 years that I've known AB, I still have no idea how old he actually is.. so I just picked a number. :)
See you tonight at the Ritz Bar & Lounge located at 369 W. 46th Street here in New York City for four rounds of Prrrrrrno Bingo!
About Harlem Pride
In 2010, Harlem Pride's founders saw an opportunity to celebrate not just our SGL & LGBT community, but its role and contributions to Harlem's rich history and thus Harlem Pride was born. Our mission is to promote Same Gender Loving & Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender pride in Harlem and to provide opportunities for networking and communication among its SGL & LGBT organizations and community members.
These opportunities are organized for and on behalf of all Same Gender Loving & Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender individuals and groups, and all others who support the struggle for the liberation of these communities. We invite the participation of all, regardless of age, creed, gender, gender identification, HIV status, national origin, physical, mental or developmental ability, race, religion or sexual origin.
