Over on the east side, I've been having a love fest of sorts every Wednesday night - it's been a kind of illcit affair all in all - although not really so clandestine since I advertise for it every week in the pages of NEXT and blare it across as many different digital platforms as I possibly can. :)
It started about six weeks ago on Wednesday night February 6th and I have to admit that I have really been thrilled to be back, not only on our original night and time (Wednesdays 9pm to 11pm) but, for the first time since the 9th Ave. Bistro closed in August 2008, I'm working with the awesomeest fella a guy could hope to work with - our bartender, Manny. You know you're going to have a great time and, as a producer, I know that anything that I need done, will get done. That's pretty huge.
This first night was filled with past fans of the show who came on out to have some fun with us as well as singer/activist/friend Terry Christopher - he was my last guest at the Bistro, first guest at Pieces and now joined us for our first night at Charlies. THANKS Terry! And it was also a blast to have our friends from the Anti Violence Project join us too - I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to this stuff - they were our first beneficiaries way back in February 2005 and have been with us tons of times since.
