As I sit here in my living room on a balmy late August night, and as I have been going through Bingo pics from the past few months, I've been re-enjoying many of these nights from this summer. But probably few were as satisfying as the 10th and Final Bad Boys on the Hudson on July 14th. The week before, on Weds July 10th I enjoyed the company of drag performer Jackie Dupree who hadn't been on the show for awhile and of course it was great to have her back again. On the same bill was my pal Tym Moss (representing the Bronx community center we were raising funds for) and singer Cisco who I'd only seen previously in BAAD's annual production of LOS NUTCRACKERS (one of my favorite holiday traditions). The night was breezy and fun and we raised a bit of cash. But unfortunately the pics from the night didn't really turn out so, unfortunately, the pic above of all of us are the only one that is really good enough to post. I think it might be time for a new camera. I realized the other day that I've had my pink Canon for about four years - which is about two years longer than I usually keep a camera given the amount of wear and tear I put it through week in and week out. The ol' girl just goes in and out these days.
The next week on Weds July 17th, I was riding an event high as the Bad Boys party had been so awesome (and the after party pit stop at an apartment in Chelsea wasn't so bad after all, although it would have been better had I not been lugging around a Duane Reade bag full of paper towels all night - that's a story for another time as well. My guests were Bad Boy Collin Stone and awesomely fabulous singer Liz Fonseca (we are all devoted fans of hers now).
The beneficiary that night was my pal and Wisconsin AIDS rider, Terry Christopher who was in the final prep for his early August ride around the rolling hills of my home state. Unfortunately I was in such a post event good mood that I left my camera at home. My photographer AB had to struggle with using my iPhone all night - and in a dark bar, that doesn't really work all that well. Above is the only real useable picture.... but Im sure I'll have Liz back soon and then we can just shoot her all night long (no, wait, that's not what I mean.. er.. uhm.... )... and thanks too to Liz's boyfriend who endured an evening in a gay bar... and I think he even won some gay porn (or did I just dream that?) :)
The week after that on Weds July 24th, I remembered the camera AND it was working so thank God I have a real gallery of photos to show you of my guests internet talk show Cisco Vegas and Cockyboys star Levi Karter. Cisco amused us all with a "whose cock is this?" photo gallery (I always love when people make an effort to do bits) and Levi ... well, Levi looks like your run of the mill pretty boy but there's a whole lot more there.
Who was our beneficiary you might ask? None other than first time beneficiaries, the Queer Urban Orchestra who successfully promoted the night to all their members who showed up, brought their friends and ended up raising over $700! Fabulous. :)
Thanks to Cockyboys for sending over a nice big load.. of xxx flicks. :)
BTW that blue t shirt I'm wearing is from my friends at Rock and Rawhide, pick yours up today!
