Growing up I used to watch The Carol Burnett Show religiously and I always liked it that, at the end, she tugged her earlobe (I think as a symbol to her grandmother that she was OK, if I remember right) and sung that before we knew it, our time together had breezed by and we'd raised over $1500 for a couple LGBT charities.
I kind of feel like that now after finishing the three week limited run of The Will Clark Show feat. P*rno Bingo. It seemed to go much faster than I thought it would but what a great three shows it was - and thanks to all of you who came by - old friends, new friends and other random people who stumbled into Uncle Charlies looking for alcohol only to discover some weird bingo show going on.
Just like old times.
A big shout out to Manny, our awesome bartender who made it incredibly easy for the entire team - myself and AB and our guests and beneficiaries and our loyal fans (Evan, Tony, Kylie, Christopher, Mark, David, Brian and many more) - to come and have some fun three weeks in a row. We celebrated some birthdays, got to hear some great music and catch up with some of my favorites. Will there be a next time? Time will tell? I never say never at this point but scheduling Bingo around work trips (as you might know, I'm an event manager during the day and it's that job that not only saved me from ongoing underemployment, but also, more or less, took me away from Bingo).
A big thanks to AB for once again joining me and taking such great pics! :) :) :) Happy belated birthday again! And a HUGE thank you to Kristen Bjorn for donating dvds to use as prizes, much appreciated!
Anyway, thanks to Arsenio Amadis (who took time out of planning his regular gigs at Rockbar and the Eagle) and Beardonna for making our return night on March 4 so spectacular - you can see the pics from the night by clicking here.
Thanks too to my pals Witti Repartee, Robusta Capp and Boylesque star and Homo Erectus producer Matt Knife for making my birthday celebration on March 11 one to remember (at least I think I remember everything.. one never knows.... I'll have to look at the pics again to make sure ... click here for those). Witti has Night of a Thousand Gowns coming up on April 11, Robusta is doing a show next weekend March 26 - 28 that I cant wait to see (esp since it costars comic Jane Aquilina) at the Producers Club. Click here for deets. And of course Matt has his monthly Homo Erectus at Stonewall - the next show is on Sat April 11 at 7pm. Friend him on Facebook to be kept abreast of all the upcoming shows!
And, finally, a big gold star goes to Boylesque star Lucky Charming who not only performed well but also was a great co-host when Gusty Wiinds, who was also booked, couldn't make it due to personal issues surrounding the death earlier last week of her friend Cashetta. If/when we do this again, I know Gusty will be with us from the get go. Meanwhile, you can continue to catch Lucky not only doing the strip thing, but also as the star of his own one man shows around town (become his friend on FB to find out when he's performing next). Check out these pics.
And as for me, I'll stop back here once in awhile and you can always catch me on Facebook making snarky comments about idiot Conservatives and other easy targets. :)
I'm glad that we had this time together... and maybe, I'll see you soon for another round or two of "Prrrrrrrno Bingo!"
