Good afternoon, peeps - with the election raging on and on and on and on isn't it nice to go to a place, even if it's just for a minute, to get away from all that and find a place where you won't see Those Names? (and I'm talking about ALL of them not just the clown car - and just for the record, I was 'over' this whole election about six months ago or so. I say, the election campaigning should start over Memorial Day weekend of the year of the election ... frankly, even that's too long for me but I suppose I have to concede that the networks need something to goose their ratings since their actual shows aren't good enough to do that... ugh to all of it. If you need two years to figure out who should be President, then there's something wrong with you- and you can quote me on that as well as "yes, I did inhale" and "yes I did have relations with that person" and, most importantly, "fuck you if you can't act with civility when discussing important matters" LOL )
I'm here at home in a grey February afternoon listening to KTU through the iHeart Radio app - the last half hour has been one dance club remix after another of popular 90s hits so I feel like I should be on a box somewhere dancing for dollar bills. :) Ah, my mis-spent youth (ok I was in my early 30s when I did that ... but I looked 16 so I guess I got another chance to have a naughty childhood! LOL)
But I digress.
Back on Wednesday, July 8, I hosted the 6th of 10 summer bingos at Uncle Charlies here in NYC as part of my "victory lap" tour - the highlight of the night was meeting the sensational Phil Esha De Lox, a drag personality that I had great fun meeting - I'm only sorry that we didn't meet her earlier in the run, I would have probably enjoyed her brand of crazy even more had I been able to add her to the roster of 'regulars'. Ah well, maybe there'll be something down the line that we can work on together. :)
If you want to see what the fuss is about, check out her shows at the following locations over the next couple weeks:
Mickey's Bar & Grill, New Jersey - https://www.facebook.com/
PhilEsha will then perform at The Toolbox on Saturday Dec 13 for her STUPID CUPID PARTY with special guests.
Then on Monday, February 22 she competes in the Miss B&S pageant! with special guests as well. That's at Boots and Saddles now in the old 7th Ave. Playhouse space - it's ten million times better than the crackerbox they were shoehorned into on Christopher.. this is one of the rare occasions when, in my opinion, getting displaced will actually help rather than kill the business. Lots of space for performers and tons of space to sit and drink... I've been in a few times since the move and it's always crowded especially on Sunday afternoons. 9pm
We raised a few hundred bucks for AIDS Ride South Africa -they've been a regular beneficiary on the show and it's leader, Bryan, graciously filmed nearly the entire final night of Bingo back on Feb 26, 2014. You can see long clips from the night posted on You Tube - you can see all the videos - which are largely unedited - by going to You Tube and typing into the search box "Will Clark's 50th". Thanks to Bryan for filming and posting these.
Thanks also to AB for taking pics on the July 8 night .. you can see them here... there's only a few but enjoy! :) Above - a rare pic with both AB and I - usually he's behind the camera or I'm emceeing so to have us both in a pic is a pretty rare thing... and this is a great one! :)
That's all for today! More tomorrow!
